Was gonna post something of value but instead have a short summary of Clubman Jcw ownership after a month.
R emoved the rear stripes, removed roof racks removed random window tint, i nstalled a smaller antenna, drove 350 miles one way to pick up roof trim that wasnt bent, also got A pillar trim while I was there(Rh side was missing tabs and fitting poorly), ate lots of oil, removed wrap on the fenders and replaced unpainted fender with a red one, replaced Turbo diverter valve, still an intermittent reduced power mode for code 2885 after mechanics updated the cars software and then said they couldn’t replicate, GM build quailty, interior rattle for days.

I used to have the regular Clubman S. The engines do burn a lot of oil, remember to check it every month. And the rattling get used to it. and dont get me started with the tire noise in the cabin...

I have to check once a week but I’m also r acking up the miles. Coming from a long line of $500 beaters I dont notice road noise but I do notice the fact that the heater motor is so loud you cant defrost the window and talk at the same time

Yeah the heater motor was loud. A fter using a Mazda 3 for the past year, I feel the automatic heater used to work a lot better on the Mini. Kept me more comfortable. The Mazda system is trash..

Somehow mine doesn’t rattle *knocks on wood*
Or maybe I've gotten too used to it...

Does the Clubman do the same thing my Cooper does where you can only have the defroster at maximum fan speed?

As far as I can tell, yes. Press the defrost button and its MAXIMUM FAN NOISES!!!!!.

I guess it would be less annoying if it wasnt the door panel right next to my ear, or at high pitch squeak of the sun visors

Wait what? Do you have automatic ac?

BMW has been doing that on everything since the 70's I think. I appreciate that you can just smash both defrost buttons after you start it to thaw it out, instead of messing with your preferences

Yes, I have the automatic climate control. If you hit the defroster is sets the fans to full blast out the top of the dash. If you try to adjust the fan speed it goes back to what ever settings you had before turning on the defroster.

O_o
I have manual controls.

I’ll have to try mine. I seldom take it off Auto. what happens if you press fan speed-down after defrost?

It turns off the defroster and brings you back to what settings you had before turning off the defroster -1 fan speed.
